The Beat are look­ing to dis­trib­ute 17 tracks that they have demoed and are cur­rently weigh­ing up their options of going it alone or sign­ing up to a record label. This comes after a short hiatus of 28 years.

The Ataris’s Kris Roe was involved in a car acci­dent recently. He was wear­ing his seat­belt, and is expec­ted to make a full recov­ery.

Emo’s Annex have banned Fat Mike from the venue after his now infam­ous Cokie the Clown gig as part of SXSW. You can read more about the gig here.
Vik­ing Funeral is a new label, star­ted by Fletcher Dragge (Penny­wise) and Ken Seaton of Hard­line Enter­tain­ment and Sub­urban Noize Records. Their first sign­ing is Author­ity Zero, who will release their fourth album through the label on May 25, 2010.

Blink-182 have announced that they will be play­ing Area 4 Fest­ival (Ger­many), High­field Fest­ival (Ger­many), and I-Day Fest­ival (Italy) on the 21st August, 22nd August and 4th Septem­ber.
Bad Religion’s Brett Gure­witz has spoken on his twit­ter about BR’s pro­gress on their next album. Appar­ently, they’ve been demo­ing mater­ial over the past few days.
Unfor­tu­nately, Stew­art Teg­gart, who was, amongst oth­ers Bad Reli­gion and Pennywise’s former man­ager, has died. He appar­ently had a heart attack on Tues­day morn­ing.

Mark Hop­pus has said that blink-182 will do everything pos­sible not to let the release of their next album slip into 2011. Talk­ing to MTV News, he’s said that the new album will be poppy, but “weird”. How­ever, Travis seems to dis­agree, telling MTV that the album “will come out prob­ably early next year.”. He spoke to MTV at the Grammys, after play­ing a track with rap­pers Drake, Lil’ Wayne and Eminem. You can check that out here.
