After an impress­ive per­form­ance by I Am The Ava­lanche, and a some­what less impress­ive per­form­ance from The Matches, MxPx took the stage. After some fairly ser­i­ous tech­nical dif­fi­culties (no cor­rectly tuned gui­tars, then the amp blew), MxPx began to rock out, sav­ing their best till the end. The Start­ing Line also delivered a well bal­anced set. The bands were very vocal with the crowds, and in places, the show felt almost like stand-up com­edy. Neither band will ever get any big­ger, so it’s a shame they were in the reduced capa­city Academy 2, but a bril­liant gig for any­one who went.
