Album sales for the week of the 30th May (ie: last week) were the low­est since records began in 1994, just over 10% of their record high, Christ­mas 2000. Pre­dict­ably, the labels poin­ted the fin­ger at piracy.

A new band has been formed by John Mar­tinez of Lorene Drive, Steve Ever­etts, pro­du­cer of Every Time I Die and The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Joe Brown of A Static Lul­laby. Elev­ate: I Am have some demos on their MySpace.

Strike Any­where have moved to Bridge Nine Records, leav­ing Fat Wreck. The say that they “just don’t relate” to Fat Wreck.

Accord­ing to Tech­crunch, a source within Spo­tify says that they are ready to launch in Amer­ica just as soon as “Warner stop being assholes”. Oh, and Spo­tify deny that they’ve got 30,000 users in the US already.

Unfor­tu­nately, ill­ness has forced John Mayer to can­cel his European dates.

Bad Reli­gion have finally announced offi­cially that they’ve been record­ing, des­pite the world and his wife hav­ing known about it for ages.

Eight Ghosts is a new band influ­enced by 90s emo (The Get-Up Kids, Jimmy Eat World, Deftones) and fea­tures Derron Nuh­fer of Less Than Jake/Gunmoll and James Aus­tin of Anchor Arms.

Sid Vicious’s now infam­ous swastika shirt is up for sale, with an alleged £10,000 price tag, although its owner has not lis­ted that price. It looks to be in more or less the con­di­tion you would expect it to be in.
