As part of a char­ity fun­draiser for Deftones bassist Chi Cheng (in hos­pital since last year, and still “minimally-conscious” fol­low­ing a coma, Greg Puci­ato of Dillinger Escape Plan took to the stage with Deftones to do the vocal part on “Pas­sen­ger” recor­ded by Tool’s Maynard James Keenan.

Punch­line are releas­ing a B-sides album, called Night Lights. It will be digital only. More info can be found here.

Cash Cash want you to have a part in your bed­room — but only a con­sen­sual one. Accord­ing to their MySpace blog, there were some issues with a female child molester at their last gig. There’s some foot­age of the incid­ent here.

Scary Kids Scar­ing Kids have offi­cially announced their break-up. They will play the tour sched­uled to begin in Janu­ary, but it will be their last. More inform­a­tion here.

Jimmy Eat World have announced in a twit­ter mes­sage that they plan to release a new album in 2010. They released “Chase This Light” in 2007.

Alkaline Trio have announced that the title of their next album will be This Addic­tion. This is also the name of the first track, and appar­ently reflects a meta­phor, whereby a heroin addic­tion rep­res­ents love. The album will be released Feb­ru­ary 23rd.

Ini­tials have announced the latest mem­ber of their all-star line up: Josh Eppard (pre­vi­ously of Coheed and Cam­bria). He joins Fred Mas­cherino (pre­vi­ously of Tak­ing Back Sunday), Andy Jack­son (of Hot Rod Cir­cuit), and Steve Lucarelli (pre­vi­ously of Once Nothing).

The band van thieves con­tinue to men­ace the world of music, but this time it’s Manchester Orches­tra who have been hit, los­ing three bags, includ­ing Corley’s “cam­era, iPod, laptop and pass­port”.

Maylene and the Sons of Dis­aster have announced that they will be join­ing The Taste of Chaos tour for the 21st Decem­ber date in Lon­don at Bor­der­line. They will join Kill­switch Engage, In Flames, and Every Time I Die.

Every Time I Die have been involved in a road acci­dent. The band are all fine, but the vehicle has been com­pletely des­troyed.

Rivers Cuomo of Weezer has been involved in a bus crash as well. Rivers is in hos­pital, but his con­di­tion is not thought to be life-threatening. His assist­ant also suffered injur­ies, but his daugh­ter and wife were unharmed. This has res­ul­ted in the can­cel­la­tion of the Weezer/Jack’s Man­nequin tour.

The Bam­boozle 2010 will see Some­thing Cor­por­ate together again. The band had this to say:

It’s been ten years since Some­thing Cor­por­ate put out its first demos, and for the first time since 2005, you can see the band per­form live! Some­thing Cor­por­ate will be a part of the 2010 Bam­boozle Left fest­ival in Ana­heim, CA on March 28th.
