Scary Kids Scaring Kids have officially announced their break-up. They will play the tour scheduled to begin in January, but it will be their last. More information here.
Jimmy Eat World have announced in a twitter message that they plan to release a new album in 2010. They released “Chase This Light” in 2007.
Alkaline Trio have announced that the title of their next album will be This Addiction. This is also the name of the first track, and apparently reflects a metaphor, whereby a heroin addiction represents love. The album will be released February 23rd.

Initials have announced the latest member of their all-star line up: Josh Eppard (previously of Coheed and Cambria). He joins Fred Mascherino (previously of Taking Back Sunday), Andy Jackson (of Hot Rod Circuit), and Steve Lucarelli (previously of Once Nothing).
The band van thieves continue to menace the world of music, but this time it’s Manchester Orchestra who have been hit, losing three bags, including Corley’s “camera, iPod, laptop and passport”.

Maylene and the Sons of Disaster have announced that they will be joining The Taste of Chaos tour for the 21st December date in London at Borderline. They will join Killswitch Engage, In Flames, and Every Time I Die.
Every Time I Die have been involved in a road accident. The band are all fine, but the vehicle has been completely destroyed.
Rivers Cuomo of Weezer has been involved in a bus crash as well. Rivers is in hospital, but his condition is not thought to be life-threatening. His assistant also suffered injuries, but his daughter and wife were unharmed. This has resulted in the cancellation of the Weezer/Jack’s Mannequin tour.
The Bamboozle 2010 will see Something Corporate together again. The band had this to say:
It’s been ten years since Something Corporate put out its first demos, and for the first time since 2005, you can see the band perform live! Something Corporate will be a part of the 2010 Bamboozle Left festival in Anaheim, CA on March 28th.
