Bedouin Soundclash, thanks to Antonio Delgado

Bedouin Soundclash, thanks to Antonio Delgado

Thank you for bearing with us during the past few weeks, here is your news — and your free music!

Max Bemis has posted a long statement about Say Anything, which you can read here. To summarise though: they’re not splitting up.

Check out Sufjan Stevens’s Bandcamp for his new EP.

Bedouin Soundclash will release their new album, Light The Horizon, on September 28th.

The Sex Pistols, in keeping with their true punk roots, have launched a perfume. They describe it as a “[f]resh, restless bite of lemon, sharpened and intensified by deiant black pepper. It’s the unruly turbulence of a prune and an in-your-face ambrette. Electrified by aldehydes, you can feel the pure energy pared down and pumped up by leather, shot through with heliotrope and brought back down to earth by a raunchy patchouli.” I refuse to link to it, in case you buy it.

There has been an interesting event involving Pennywise and Alesana. After a night drinking, a couple of guys from Pennywise made their way onto Alesana’s RV (which they believed to be the Reverend Peyton’s RV). When Alesana’s tour manager tried to kick them off, Pennywise felt threatened, and a fight broke out. The police were called, and Fletcher Dragge was tased. Dragge has apologised to Alesana, and they have accepted the apology gracefully.

Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley was attacked after a gig in Japan, and suffered a slipped disc as a result. He is, however, still performing, despite the instructions of his doctor.

Bad Religion’s Brett Gurewitz has managed to sign Weezer to his label, Epitaph Records. The band will release Hurley on Epitaph on September 14th.

There has been an unfortunate death at this year’s Warped Tour. There is much speculation and a dirth of fact at the moment, but it is believed that Curtis Alan Deforest died of dehydration.

And some non-punk news: Proposition 8, the Californian ban on gay marriages has thankfully been overturned, and ruled as unconsitutional.
