Jimmy Eat World have finished recording their new album, and have progressed to the mixing stage, according to the band’s Twitter.
Propagandhi have this to say about their recent departure from Smallman Records after the label has been closed down:
Seems we have the midas touch: we need a new record label (again).
Smallman Records is calling it a day and moving on to real lives that don’t involve unstoppable bangers at the top of their game (that’s us, hosehead). So if there’s any labels out there that aren’t total cornholes but still know how put out a record properly, drop us a line. I said properly. We’ll have a new record ready to record by the end of 2010, and judging from the 7 tunes we have going so far, it’s going to leave everything we’ve done in the past in the stinking dust. Yes, Virginia, even “Ska Sucks.”
MGMT are streaming their new album on their website. The album is called Congratulations.

According to Kerrang!, Greenday have begun demoing for a new album, their follow-up to 21st Century Breakdown.

Universal Records are taking the huge step in the U.S. of pricing all of their CDs below $10. This excludes double albums and Deluxe Editions, but is still bound to cause other labels to reconsider their pricing strategy, and hopefully this will soon be mirrored over the pond.
A riot broke out in Sao Paulo , Brazil, after Guns ‘N’ Roses failed to show up to play a private gig. Their tour of South America has been fraught with problems, including cancellations and stage collapses.
