Jimmy Eat World have fin­ished record­ing their new album, and have pro­gressed to the mix­ing stage, accord­ing to the band’s Twit­ter.

Pro­pa­gandhi have this to say about their recent depar­ture from Small­man Records after the label has been closed down:

Seems we have the midas touch: we need a new record label (again).

Small­man Records is call­ing it a day and mov­ing on to real lives that don’t involve unstop­pable bangers at the top of their game (that’s us, hose­head). So if there’s any labels out there that aren’t total cornholes but still know how put out a record prop­erly, drop us a line. I said prop­erly. We’ll have a new record ready to record by the end of 2010, and judging from the 7 tunes we have going so far, it’s going to leave everything we’ve done in the past in the stink­ing dust. Yes, Vir­ginia, even “Ska Sucks.”

MGMT are stream­ing their new album on their web­site. The album is called Congratulations.

Accord­ing to Ker­rang!, Greenday have begun demo­ing for a new album, their follow-up to 21^st Cen­tury Breakdown.

Uni­ver­sal Records are tak­ing the huge step in the U.S. of pri­cing all of their CDs below $10. This excludes double albums and Deluxe Edi­tions, but is still bound to cause other labels to recon­sider their pri­cing strategy, and hope­fully this will soon be mirrored over the pond.

A riot broke out in Sao Paulo , Brazil, after Guns ‘N’ Roses failed to show up to play a private gig. Their tour of South Amer­ica has been fraught with prob­lems, includ­ing can­cel­la­tions and stage collapses.
