John Frusciante has confirmed that he has left the Red Hot Chili Peppers, after an initial leak to MusicRadar by a source “close to the band”.
Bad Religion are going back into the studio in late April to record the follow-up to their last album, New Maps of Hell. Brett Gurewitz has also said that the album will be out in the autumn of 2010.
Boys Night Out’s Jeff and Connor have released a demo on the MySpace of their side project, Hard Calibers. You can check it out here.
Frontman of Alexisonfire, Dallas Green’s, side project, City and Colour will release a digital single on 12th January, including “Forgive Me”, and an acoustic cover of Alexisonfire’s Boiled Frogs.
Deftones will release an album in late spring next year. The album, scheduled for April 27th, has not been given a name yet, but it deals with the struggle the band have had to go through since Chi Cheng’s accident (he remains in hospital, in a semi-conscious state). The band have recorded an entire album with Chi, but are not planning on releasing it within any determined timescale.
Yet another artist has had their equipment stolen. This time it was Kevin Devine, whose equipment was stolen from backstage as he played in Giessen, Germany.
The Spill Canvas have uploaded a new track to their MySpace page. Listen here.
Saves the Day are losing two of their members, Manny and Durijah. Apparently, now that Glassjaw are back up and running, they feel that their obligations lie with Glassjaw.
Rage Against the Machine have officially made it to the top of the UK charts, meaning that Killing in the Name of… is Christmas number one. It was off the back of a massive Facebook campaign to deny the X-Factor Christmas number one.
Our thoughts go out to Brittany Murphy’s family, after she has died aged 32. Clueless was certainly a significant film in my life, and I believe this to be true for a massive number of people my age.
