Sum 41 have gone on record say­ing that the new album won’t be all about Deryck’s recent divorce. Appar­ently, there’s “like, two songs”. They say that fans of Does This Look Infec­ted? and Chuck should love it. The album will be called Scream­ing Bloody Murder, and the first track will be Scumfuck.

Accord­ing to this MySpace blog post, Yuri Ruley will be retir­ing from MxPx as of the 18th July in order to spend more time with his family.

Linkin Park’s new record, A Thou­sand Suns, will be released on Septem­ber the 14th, and the first single from it, The Cata­lyst, will be on radio from the 2nd August.

Arthur is back. The side pro­ject from MxPx have been silent for ten years, but accord­ing to their twit­ter, they’re record­ing again.

Justin Bieber, the much-hated inter­net phe­nomenon has been mak­ing waves over at 4Chan, and appar­ently, a con­test on his web­site to “win” a Justin Bieber per­form­ance in your coun­try has been sub­ver­ted by them, res­ult­ing in North Korea win­ning the vote. In Poland, a sim­ilar cam­paign was run through the demotywatory.pl web­site, to send him to Israel instead.

Say Anything’s Jake Turner has got together with a friend and they’re going to start pro­du­cing and co-writing with other bands.

Thursday’s sixth album is being recor­ded at the moment, under the watch­ful gaze of David Frid­mann, who has worked with bands like MGMT, The Flam­ing Lips, and Mogwai.

In some good news, Mat­thew from Mad­ina Lake has been released from hos­pital after his beat­ing which we repor­ted on last week.

Third Eye Blind are back in the stu­dio, accord­ing to this twit­ter post.

Joshua Cain (Motion City Soundtrack) has had to fly home as he has just become father to a baby girl. Brian Southall, of Boys Night Out will be filling in for him on the rest of the tour.
