The Beat are look­ing to dis­trib­ute 17 tracks that they have demoed and are cur­rently weigh­ing up their options of going it alone or sign­ing up to a record label. This comes after a short hiatus of 28 years.

Jimmy Eat World have announced that we will hear Tom Linton’s voice on an up-and-coming JEW track, prob­ably on the album.

Pat Dee, drum­mer in Punch­line, is now the ex-drummer from Punch­line, after appar­ently being kicked out of the band. Spec­u­la­tion abounds that this is to make way for Cory from The Com­pos­ure or PJ Caruso, the band’s old drummer.

In more Punchline-related news, you can down­load seven of the band’s songs here, along with three from Spon­taneo, Mod­ern Short Stories’s latest signing.

The Power­less Rise, As I Lay Dying’s latest album, is stream­ing over on their MySpace.

Accord­ing to Chris Free­man of Manchester Orches­tra, the band are back in the studio.

Dog­house records have appar­ently signed Danger Radio (Andrew de Torres of The Scene Aes­thetic, among oth­ers). An album is in the work, but in the mean­time, a couple of B-sides EPs are com­ing out in June.

Natavia Lowery has been form­ally con­victed of the murder of Linda Stein, the former Ramones man­ager. She has been sen­tenced to 25 years in prison for the murder.
