Lucky Boys Confusion

Your new E.P., How To Get Out Alive is one of the most impressive E.P.s I’ve heard in a long time. What inspires your song writing?
Stubhy: Well, mostly just story telling. I’ve always liked to take things happening in my life and embellish them to make them relatable to everyone listening.

Dumb Pop Song strikes a chord in the heart of adolescent teens the world over… what’s the story behind it?
Stubhy: I was infatuated with my friends sister and her boyfriend was an absolute tool. One day he ran up to us and said something stupid and as he was walking away I just said, ‘Whatever, I’m gonna steal your girlfriend.’ A light bulb went on in my head. I looked at Adam, he just laughed, 15 minutes later we had a song.

If you were responsible for someone’s musical education, which five albums would you give them, and why?
Stubhy: Beatles — Let It Be
Nirvana — Nevermind
Bob Marley — Legend
Oasis — What’s The Story Morning Glory
Beastie Boys — Paul’s Boutique
Bright Eyes — I’m Wide Awake It’s Morning
Cause they are good.

What’s your favourite song that you’ve done so far?
Stubhy: Closer To Our Graves

We love new music, unsigned bands, all that kind of thing. Have you got any hot tips for us? Anyone you’ve overheard at the practice studios?
Stubhy: The Rydells
Swizzle Tree
Alpha Couple

What’s it been like touring with bands like Bowling for Soup and Punchline?
Stubhy: Amazing guys, good drunken times.

Any plans for a UK tour any time soon?
Stubhy: Not for a while.

What’s your favourite food, and your favourite drink (either alcoholic or soft)?
Stubhy: Bloody Marys and Mexican and Indian Food

Everyone’s got some sort of celebrity crush… who’s yours?
Stubhy: Pretty generic.… Jessica Alba

Thanks for your time, but one last question before you go, what’s next for Lucky Boys Confusion?
Stubhy: Just playing shows and keeping the fans happy!
